He has held positions at the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen and at the universities of Giessen, Bonn and Hamburg. His publications include works on reincarnation, monastic and local traditions, the historical geography and architectural history of Tibet, and the cultural history of Tibet, Mongolia and the Himalayas. Dr. Everding has been leading tours, making trips for academic research and travelling privately in Tibet for over 15 years.
